AUBURN — Pierre L. Tanguay, 59, a resident of School Street, Auburn, died Tuesday, June 26, at the Hospice House following a brief illness.

He was born in Lewiston, July 10, 1952, the son of Louis and Theodora (Fortier) Tanguay.

Pierre was employed with Pathways in contracted janitorial services as well as other contracted services with Pathways. He was a participant with the Maine Special Olympics participating on the bowling team. He also had a love for horses and NASCAR racing. He loved eagles and country music, and was an avid New England sports fan.

Survivors include two sons; an adopted daughter; one brother, Ernest of Danville, Va.; two sisters, Carmen Duguay and husband, Phillippe, of Wales and Anita Tanguay and companion, Richard Christie, of Augusta; a special caregiver, Teresa Davis and husband, Erik, of Oxford; his social caseworker, Dan Crawford of Auburn; many nieces and nephews; and his pet cat, “Peanut.”

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one niece.
