NORWAY — Frost Farm Gallery will hold a First Friday reception on July 6 for its new show, “Sportsman’s Paradise,” by internationally acclaimed artist, sculptor and conservationist Vito DeVito.

The exhibit and sale, featuring hunting and fishing works, will continue through Saturday, July 28, at the gallery at the David W. Frost farm, 272 Pikes Hill.

A graduate of Seton Hall University, DeVito studied extensively throughout the United States and Europe.

The DeVito family has spent summers in Norway, where DeVito has painted hunting and fishing scenes over the past 25 years.

Today, DeVito is painting for three international groups, Ducks Unlimited, Safari Club International and The International Game Fish Association. He recently completed his 12th painting for Ducks Unlimited, and his work is in demand among conservation, fishing and environmental organizations throughout the United States.

Rounding out the artist’s commissions are requests for hunting and fishing scenes, nature-oriented and figurative bronze sculpture, and portrait work in all mediums.

Maine singer-songwriter Brad Hooper will perform at the free reception, scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. His performances lean toward the blues, but draw on a full spectrum of genres and time periods.

The First Friday art opening at Frost Farm Gallery is in conjunction with the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center, Commons Art Collective and McLaughlin Garden. For more information, call the gallery at 743-8041.
