HOUSTON — Richard “Ricky” Lynn Wilson, 53, passed away on June 21 in Houston, Texas.
He was born Nov. 18, 1958, in Portland, to Thomas and Bette (Browne) Wilson. He grew up in and attended Westbrook schools. Ricky served in the U.S. Army, working heavy artillery while stationed at Wiesbaden, Germany and Fort Sill, Okla.
After his discharge, he worked various jobs in Maine, Virginia and Florida, before taking up permanent residence in Houston in the early 1990s.
Ricky was amazingly gifted with his hands. He could repair all things mechanical, build anything out of wood from a picnic table to a house and his drawing and painting skills were unmatched. But he will be best remembered for his warm, down-to-earth personality, which allowed him to easily make friends wherever he went, whatever the occasion.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas Wilson and his wife, Patricia of Cheyenne, Wyo., Peter Wilson and his wife, Denise of Westbrook and Gregory Wilson and his partner, Sandy Haan of Lennox, S.D.; sisters, Angela Wilson of Westbrook and Kristine Wilson and her partner, David Brule of Lewiston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ricky was predeceased by his parents.
