PORTLAND —   Elizabeth F. (Betty) Gorman passed away peacefully at the Maine Medical Center, on June 18, after a long illness.

She was born on July 5, 1936, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Ferri. She was valedictorian of her high school class and graduated cum laude from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. She most recently retired from L.L. Bean.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Gorman of Raymond; and her two sisters, Caroline R. Ferri and  Margaret Veth, both of Queens, N.Y.
