LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, announces July programming for job seekers and those considering training to upgrade their skills to increase their employability.
There are three new workshops:
The Job Quest. This 1.5-hour job search skills workshop will provide tools to be successful in a job search. Offered at Central Maine Community College on July 16 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Mock Job Interviews. This workshop will provide tools to feel comfortable in an interview. Participating in the Resume/Interview Skills workshop is a prerequisite to attending this workshop. Two Mock Job Interview workshops will be held at the CareerCenter: July 16 from 1 to 3 p.m., and July 30 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Internet Job Hunting 101. Participants will learn what to look for in a job board, Internet safety, marketing in a digital world, and resources available during a job search. Presented July 26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The center will host a job fair July 9 from noon to 4 p.m. Employers who are hiring will be on hand to recruit for their open customer service, sales, and call center positions. Participants should come prepared with a resume and dressed for a job interview.
Other workshops offered in July and ongoing are Professionals Moving Ahead group that meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Presenters cover professional development and job search strategies. Registration not required.
Aging Worker Initiative Orientation for workers 55 and older with viable employment and training opportunities in the fields of health care, green energy and technology. Career Decision Making, a two-part workshop, July 9 and 13 or July 23 and 27. Registration required: 753-9005.
Creating your Future, offered by Women, Work and Community, open to all adults. Offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Orientation is July 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. to learn more. Registration required: 753-6612.
CareerCenter Training Orientation is an overview of training programs at the CareerCenter, eligibility requirements and information on accessing services. Ask CareerCenter staff (753-9005) for the schedule of meetings and to register.

An Adult Education representative will be available July 11, 18 or 25, 10:15-11 a.m.
Orientation for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services is held the third Friday of the month (July 20) from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required.
