LEWISTON — Members of the George Armstrong Custer Post 7 Grand Army of the Republic Association and the public are invited to attend special services commemorating the 149th anniversary of the Battle at Gettysburg, July 3, 1863.

The service will be held, rain or shine, at noon Tuesday, July 3, at the grave site of Samuel Dwelly, Riverside Cemetery.

Pvt. Dwelly, 24, was killed at Gettysburg on July 8, 1863. Many others who died at Gettysburg are buried at Riverside Cemetery.

The program includes the invocation by Rev. Richard Bolduc, reading of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address by Ronald Arneault, the story at Gettysburg by Larry Mayes, Civil War poems of Walt Whitman by Jerry Der Boghosian and patriotic songs.
