NORWAY — The coffee shop at Stephens Memorial Hospital will be closing for renovations at the end of the week.

When it reopens in two weeks, it will be called The Cafe at Stephens and serve food and coffee 24 hours a day.

Barbara Allen, spokeswoman for the hospital, said the results of a survey found people wanted the coffee shop open beyond its usual 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. hours. When it reopens, it will have all the food and beverages currently available, with expanded hours and more comfortable seating.

“It will be the usual food that customers are accustomed to having,” Allen said. “There will be comfortable seating and access to Wi-Fi.” She said soup, a popular option on the menu, will still be available, along with salads and a special of the day.

One change will be the jobs of volunteers in the kitchen. Currently, volunteers cook the food and bus tables. After the reopening, volunteers will help customers.
