AUBURN — Muriel (Gilbert) Johnson, formerly of 414 Pond Road, Lewiston, died Sunday, July 1, at Clover Manor.
She was born March 10, 1928, in Lewiston, a daughter of the late Lucien J. and Alma (Marquis) Gilbert. She was reared by her uncle and aunt, George A. and Anne Marie Marquis of Lewiston, until she married Donald J. Johnson of Poland on April 5, 1948. He predeceased her on Nov. 19, 1991.
Mrs. Johnson was a communicant of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church.
She resided in the town of Poland for more than 40 years before returning to make her home in Lewiston.
She graduated from Holy Family Grammar School in 1943, and Lewiston High School in 1947.
She leaves a daughter, Ann E. (Johnson) Warren and fiance, Douglas Elkins of Millinocket; three grandchildren, Kyle T. Warren of Massachusetts, Candace M. (Warren) Bauer and husband, Ian, of Olympia, Wash., and Kendon T. Warren of Dayton, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Donovan and Aiyana Bauer of Washington; a sister, Lorraine A. Lavoie of Lewiston; two sisters-in- law, Georgette Gilbert of Lewiston and Arlene Johnson of Poland; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Nellie Thompson of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her son, Alan D. Johnson of Lewiston; sister, Vivian McCall in 1986 of Aston, Pa.; a brother, Laurier L. Gilbert of Lewiston; and brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Johnson of Poland.
