LEWISTON — Lewiston PAL finished then season 17-1 and captured the Major Division softball championship in South Lewiston Little League with a 6-3 victory over Patti Gagne Allstate.

Emily Mousseau struck out 15 batters in the victory. Jordyn Rubin had a home run, while Megan Gosselin added a double. Both scored runs along with Mousseau twice and Tori Mathieu twice. Sierra Connor-Schade added an RBI.

PAL was lead by a mixture of talented veterans and strong new players. Veteran all-stars Megan Gosselin, Emily Mousseau, and Tori Mathieu joined with first-year stars Maddy Foster, Jordyn Rubin and Kali Voss to propel PAL. Veteran Bri Girardin finished her softball career at SLLL as a champion.

The season would not have been a success without the timely hitting from steadily improving Marissa Adams, Sierra Connor-Schade, Arielle Davis and Sarah Greaton.

The champions were coached by Bill Gosselin, Bill Mousseau, Buddy Voss and Lexie Elsman, who was sidelined with an injury suffered in preseason.
