FARMINGTON — Richard Ellis Titcomb, 92, of Farmington, passed away, Saturday, June 30, at the Orchard Park Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1919, in Farmington, the son of John and Addie (Leeman) Titcomb Sr. He attended Farmington schools, graduating from Farmington High School in 1937. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 3, 1945, and served with the Fourth Infantry Division as a specialist in Morse code. He fought in the Philippines and Japan.

On Oct. 11, 1947, he married Barbara Beale at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church in Farmington. They made their home in Farmington, where he worked in farming for 18 years, before going to work for Glen Hobbs as a carpenter and later at G.H. Bass from where he retired in the early 1980s. For years, he also sold live bait to ice fisherman from his home and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, trapping and feeding his birds.

He was a member of the Shorey Chapel in Industry and was former member of the Clearwater Grange in Allens Mills.

Richard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara of Farmington; children, Rodney Titcomb and his wife, Sheryl, of Farmington and Louise Tyler and her husband, Mark, of Farmington; grandchildren, Lisa Timberlake and her husband, Eric, of Industry, Angela Burrill and her companion, Scott Bard, of Farmington, Heather Draper and her husband, George, of Springvale, Eric Titcomb and his companion, Norma Burton, of Farmington Falls and Matthew Tyler of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren, Kayla Bard of Farmington and Kayden Tyler of New Hampshire; brother-in-law, George Beale and his wife, Beverly, of Industry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Thompson, Isabele Pillsbury and John Titcomb, Jr.
