FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners agreed Tuesday to seek bids for architectural services to prepare plans and put them out to bid for the new Franklin County dispatch center.
Bids will be accepted until 4 p.m. July 20 and commissioners will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. July 24 to review the bids.
Four architectural firms that previously expressed interest will be notified, along with local advertising for other bidders. Those firms include Smith Reuter and Lull, Harriman, Bunker and Savage, and SMRT, County Clerk Julie Magoon said.
A conceptual plan and budgets for the proposed construction of the 2,200-square-foot dispatch building at 123 County Way are available for those interested in working on the next step of the project.
Commissioners are seeking a firm to review the plans and make recommendations on any changes that will “make the project more efficient and/or economical while still meeting the county’s space program.”
They also want the bidder to prepare construction documents and assist the county in securing bids from general contractors.
Commissioners are looking for a timeline for the work above to be done.
