AUBURN — Genella O. Wright Deberri, 86, of Dixfield, died late Tuesday, July 3, at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her loving family by her side after a very short stay.

She was born Aug. 28, 1925, in North Jay, a daughter of Edward and Sarah Wright. She graduated from Jay schools and went on to earn her degree in nursing from Maine General Medical Center in 1946. The majority of her nursing career was spent as the operating room supervisor in a New Jersey hospital, but she continued a diverse career in nursing for 54 years.

Genella enjoyed reading, time spent with her family and playing cards with her recent companion, Harry Francis.

She is survived by her children, Sarah Bonardi of Lodi, N.J., Adeline “Addie” Taylor and her husband, Wes, of Fayette and John Brassart of Warrensburg, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Debra Reihman, John Menthe, Amanda Bedell, Katrin Menthe, Jennifer Brassart and Joseph Brassart; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Phil Wright of North Jay; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her most recent husband, Edmond Deberri, in 2004; and companion for the last six years, Harry Francis on April 30; siblings, Ruth Francis, Jeanette Baker, Donzetta Dunn, Clarence, Silas, Vinton and Dennis Wright.

Genella’s family would like to thank Christine and Doug Lothrop of Dixfield for their loving care as well as Harry’s children, Llewellyn Francis and his wife, Helen and George Jacobs and his wife, Patricia “Pat” for the kindness they showed her.
