LEWISTON — The Franco-American Heritage Center will hold its monthly La Rencontre luncheon 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, in the Franco Center’s Heritage Hall. The lunch is $7 and will be lobster rolls and chicken salad rolls. The featured entertainment will be the Just Us Entertainers performing a special Independence Day salute to veterans of the Armed Forces.

The Just Us Entertainers, first organized in 1999, have participated at every Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day event since the year 2000. The group has also performed at both visits of the Vietnam wall replica in Kennedy Park and in Veteran’s Park. They have also presented four Memorial Day programs at the Oak Hill Middle School in Sabattus. All male members of the group are veterans as well as one female member.

The program will feature military songs as well as popular songs from World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm.

The Franco Center presents La Rencontre as a way to reconnect with, entertain and enjoy the extended Franco-American family in the area. All guests are welcome.

Each fully catered luncheon is followed by a performance, both of which change every month. Guests are strongly encouraged to speak in French. If English is spoken, you may be asked to make a small donation, all in good fun.
