MELBOURNE, Fla. — Rose Emma Farnum Dyer, 95, died Sunday, July 1, at the Life Care Center of Melbourne, Fla., with family by her side.

Rose was born in Woodstock, April 25, 1917, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Buck Farnum. Rose graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1935. She married Arland Dyer in 1939. They made their home in Milton Plantation.

Rose held various positions over the years and one of her favorites was working at Brooks Brothers in Bethel, serving her hardware customers. Rose was very proud of the fact that she waited on Paul Newman. Rose worked well into her 70s before retiring.

Rose enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends across the United States. Rose made two trips to Alaska, one with family and friends through an Elder Hostel Program and the other on a cruise. She also cruised the Caribbean and to Bermuda.

One of Rose’s favorite pastimes was playing cards. She loved playing cribbage, hand and foot, and playing skip-bo with her grand and great-grandchildren. Rose spent happy times at Joe’s Club during the winter of 2012, where she was the Queen of Bingo.

Survivors include daughters, Patricia Errington and her husband, Michael, of Melbourne, Fla., and Nancy Twitchell of Bethel; three grandchildren, Michael and Melissa Errington, Robert Errington and Tracy Twitchell Milligan and husband, Jeffery; great-grandchildren are Emma, Ava, Victoria, Nikki, Raeanne and Rebecca.

Rose was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her brother, Donald Farnum; and her grandson, Jeremy Twitchell.
