WILTON — Joanne S. Heimerl, 50, a resident of Wilton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 2, at her home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1962, in Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of Charles and Edith (Kursawe) Jordan. Joanne was a 1980 graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn and later went to Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute for metal fabrication and graduated in 1994. On Oct. 2, 2006, in Jackman, she married her longtime friend and companion of 23 years, James L. Heimerl. Throughout the years, Joanne has worked for Foster Manufacturing in Wilton; Dumont Industries in Monmouth; Country Kitchen in Lewiston; and had currently has been working at Verso Paper in Jay as a storeroom clerk for the past 8 years. Joanne enjoyed long rides in the woods, time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren, going out on the ATV, fishing, camping and her dogs. She especially loved doing things for others; she was an “Ultimate Service Provider.”
Joanne was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be remembered for her kindness and her exceptional laugh. Joanne will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Heimerl of Wilton; her father, Charles Jordan of West Poland; two daughters, Kimberly Ragsdale and her husband, Brad, of Farmington and Wendy Lauzier and her fiancé, John Taylor, of Augusta; her son, Robert Lauzier and his fianceé, Mekayla Farley, of Poland; two stepsons, Eric Heimerl and his wife, Amy, of Auburn; and Jason Heimerl of Lewiston; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin, Katlynn, Aden, Devon and Sebastian, her siblings, Heidi Thomas and her husband Tim of Portland, Pam Veilleux and her husband Pat of Oxford, Mike Jordan and his companion, Cindy, of Farmingdale and Shelly Afthim and her husband, Phil, of Windham; and her nieces and nephews, Bryce, Brady, Sam, Mike, Katie, Charlie, Bridget, Erik, Garrett, Zach and Lindsey. She was predeceased by her mother, Edith Jordan.
