AUBURN — Rita J. Trask, 77, died July 4, at Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born in Lewiston, July 25, 1934, to the late Lucy and Harry Brown. She was a resident of Minot as well as Haines City, Fla.

Rita was married to her best friend, Kenneth Trask, July 7, 1951. They had three sons, Bill, Lewis and Allen. Together they ran Trask’s Sport Shop, First Roach Lodge and Campground, and Yoke Pond Camps.

Rita was known by her family as a great cook, a master at arts and crafts, especially cross stitch, and a loving mother and grandmother. Rita was a golfing enthusiast, playing regularly at the Lake Henry Estates, where she resided during the winters. She also enjoyed playing Bingo regularly, and most recently won the big pot before coming back to Maine for the summer. She also enjoyed four-wheeling and camping in the summers, especially up in the north country.

Rita’s laughter and friendship will be sorely missed by her friends and family.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Lewis Trask and wife, Gwen, of Minot; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rita was predeceased by her parents; as well as two sons, Bill Trask and Allen Trask.
