LEWISTON — Maine State Police troopers from the Gray barracks will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Androscoggin County on Saturday evening, July 7, to help keep roadways as safe as possible.

Troopers remind people to wear seat belts, not to drink and drive or speed and to obey traffic safety laws.

Motorists are asked to allow plenty of travel time because traffic likely will be heavier than normal. Troopers ask drivers to avoid any type of activity that distracts from driving, especially texting.
