Inman’s interest in photography appeared early on. “I took my first pictures,” he said, “with a Kodak Brownie. I didn’t own a camera for quite a while, so I borrowed from anyone who would lend me one.” Milt recalls that one memorable early photograph was of the train wreck by the feldspar mill in West Paris. He reckons he was 10 or 12 when that happened. His photographs now number in the thousands.

Milt’s photographs vividly capture the wonder and beauty of the natural world, both at home and on his travels. Milt has always been an outdoorsman. “I always loved being outdoors,” he said. “I fished from the time I was a little kid, every chance I could get.” Hunting and skiing kept him in the outdoors as well. He has visited all of the U. S. states except Hawaii. His photographs have appeared in tourism promotions for the state of Maine.

Milt says that, when he leaves home, he usually takes a camera with him. “I always keep three or four cameras and a tripod at the ready in my living room” for those times that demand a quick response before the picture-perfect moment is lost.

He and his wife Eleanor live at “Camp Maplewood” on Hicks Pond in Greenwood City.
