AUBURN — Lois Evelyn Allanach Gordon, 92, a longtime resident of Sanders Road, Livermore, died early Monday, July 9, at Clover Manor Nursing Home, with her loving daughter at her side.

She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Canton, the daughter of Harold and Jessie (Reed) Gilbert. Lois was a 1937 graduate of Canton High School and continued her education at Auburn School of Commerce. She married Christopher Allanach Jr. in 1945, he passed away in 1953.

On June 10, 1955, in Canton, she married her husband of 55 years, P. Clarence Gordon. He passed away June 13, 2010.

Lois had worked at Peck’s Department Store in Lewiston; Rumford Falls Trust Co.; Dunton’s Clothing Store in Livermore Falls; and worked for 20 years at their family business, Gordon’s Egg Farm in Livermore.

She also served the town of Livermore as a ballot clerk for more than 30 years and volunteered at Pomeroy Hill Nursing Home.

Lois was a member of the Livermore Extension, 28 Ponemah Rebekah Lodge in Canton; Livermore – Livermore Falls Historical Society; Canton, Jay, Livermore Falls, and North Turner Senior Citizens and the Senior Ladies Bowling League.

Lois was an avid Red Sox fan. Lois and her friend, Irma Bowles, would take a trip on the Dube Bus Line each summer to go see the Red Sox play. She continued going each summer right into her 80s.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and member of the community.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Pelletier and her husband, Jack, of Jay; three sons, Jerry Allanach and his wife, Barbara, of Naperville, Ill., Bernard Gordon of Brunswick and Douglas Gordon of Livermore and his companion, Barbara Baker; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeannette Buck of Auburn and Elizabeth Sampson of Seal Beach, Calif.; and her brother, Harold Gilbert and his wife, Norma, of Lewiston.
