RUMFORD — Dr. Cathy Krouse has joined the Rural Track Residency Program at Swift River Family Medicine. As do all Rural Track residents, she spent the first year of her residency in the Central Maine Medical Center Family Residency Program and now will serve two more years in Rumford.

Krouse received her medical education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. She chose the Rural Track Program because she intends to practice in an outpatient clinic in a small community after completing her residency. Krouse wants to practice the full scope of family medicine and feels Rumford is a good place to train for that.

Krouse is glad to be near the mountains where she can enjoy some of her favorite pastimes — rock climbing, hiking, whitewater rafting and other water sports.
