AUBURN — Blanche D. Biker, 91, of Auburn died Thursday, July 12, at Clover Manor Nursing Home, where she resided for the past four years.
She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 2, 1920, a daughter of the late John and Katherine Rzasa Delekto and she attended Auburn schools. She was married in April 27, 1947 to Adolph F. (Eddie) Biker, who died in April 8, 1992.
Mrs. Biker was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church, and was active with Auburn Senior Citizens.
During World War II, Mrs. Biker was a draftsman at Bath Iron Works. After having children, she worked in the cafeterias in Auburn schools, then worked as a draftsman for the city of Lewiston in the planning department prior to her retirement in 1984.
Her life-long hobbies were crocheting, quilting and needlepoint. In retirement, Blanche taught sewing and quilting to numerous groups.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Biker of Lewiston, William and his wife, Jennifer Biker, of Lunenburg, Mass., and James Biker of Leominster, Mass.; three grandchildren, Michael Biker Jr. of Lewiston, Jessica Biker of Gloucester, Mass., and Benjamin Biker of Lunenburg, Mass.; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Nolin and her husband, Roger, of East Boothbay.
