Nicholas Bessman and
Lauren Naliboff
VIENNA — Jane and Jay Naliboff, M.D., of Vienna proudly and joyously announce the marriage of their daughter, Dr. Lauren Corinne Naliboff, to Nicholas James Bessman, son of Jean and Carl Bessman of Ames, Iowa, at 6 p.m. on June 9 at the home of the parents of the bride. Eugene H. Kaplan, grandfather of the bride and universal life minister, officiated at the ceremony.
Dana and Courtney Naliboff, older and younger sisters of the bride, sang an original piece with music and lyrics by singer/songwriter Courtney Naliboff of North Haven. John Bessman, brother of the bridegroom, read a short selection from Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass.”
An outdoor reception was held at the home of the parents of the bride. The couple took a brief mini-holiday to Stowe, Vt., before returning to their studies. They are residing in Philadelphia, Pa.
Dr. Naliboff is a graduate of Mount Blue High School, class of 2001 and Vassar College, class of 2005, where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received a doctorate of osteopathic medicine in May, 2012, from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is currently a first-year resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Cooper Hospital in Camden, N.J.
Mr. Bessman is a 2003 graduate of Ames High School in Ames, Iowa. He received a bachelor’s degree with distinction in biochemistry from Iowa State University in 2006. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Molecular Biochemistry and Physics at the University of Pennsylvania. He expects to finish in the next year or two.
