PHILLIPS — The Mahoosuc Arts Council and Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center have joined forces, under the banner of the Western Maine Arts Collaborative, to host Canadian super group The Tartan Terrors for several shows.

Bolstered by the blistering piping of two-time, world champion bagpiper Lars Sloan, the driving tones of drums and stand-out guitar playing, The Tartan Terrors have taken the Celtic scene by storm.

The group combines its musical prowess with championship calibre Highland dancers and internationally recognized comedic performers.

The four concerts in this tour, beginning Monday, July 23, at Phillips Area Community Hall, will launch the first of a series of three concert tours between Mahoosuc and Skye Theatre in July and August.

The Tartan Terrors will also take the stage at Bingham Hall in Bethel on Tuesday, July 24; at Skye Theater in Carthage on Wednesday, July 25; and at Unity College’s Center for the Performing Arts in Unity on Thursday, July 26.

Curtain is 7 p.m. at Mahoosuc, Phillips and Skye; 7:30 p.m. at UCCPA. Students from Camp Susan Curtis will be in attendance and involved with afternoon workshops on performance and dance as part of a youth outreach program with Mahoosuc.
