AUBURN — Gisela Clauss, 73, of Auburn, went home with the Lord on July 15, after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born in Koblenz, Germany, Oct. 13, 1938, the daughter of Albert Bucker and Katharina Elisabeth (Liesel) Knopp.

Gisela was schooled in Koblenz, Germany. Mom became a United States Citizen on Nov. 2, 1972. Mom went back to school and received her associate degree in administration at Mid-State Business College in 1981. Mom worked for the Lewiston School Department for 20-plus years in education. Mom retired from education in June 2008.

Mom loved her cats, Molly and Fritz. Her favorite pastimes were walking the Maine beaches, cooking, baking, crocheting, reading and shopping. Mom also loved to visit New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Mom’s greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom is survived by her brother, Fred Bucker of Germany; her son, Rainer Bolduc of Elgin, Ore.; her grandchildren, Stephen Devoe, Rainer Benjamin Bolduc, Isaac Bolduc and India Hardy and great-grandchildren, Seamus and Ava, all of Oregon; her daughters, Ilona Landi of Providence, R.I., Laurie Bolduc of Auburn and Rhoda Willard of Mount Vernon; and her beloved granddaughters, Jessie Gisele Yergin of Auburn, and Nicole Lynn Yergin of Mount Vernon; also surviving is Gary Devlin, her greatest and most loved friend; as well as, Erika Theberge, her dearest friend of more than 40 years.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Karin Bucker.
