RUMFORD — A funeral service honoring the life of Richard L. “Pa” Welch was held Friday at SG Thibault Funeral Home. The Rev. Linda Kimball officiated. Music selections were “Amazing Grace,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Just a Closer Walk With Thee.” The poem entitled “The Dash” was read by son-in-law, David Briggs. Personal reflections written by family members were read by Richie Philbrick. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Gallant, Dave Fitzpatrick, Albert Bradley, Richard Cormier, Richie Philbrick and Robert Driscoll. Prior to the service, visitation was by the Snowshoe Club, The Elks, and the Rumford and Mexico Fire departments. Burial will be at a later date in West Ellis Cemetery in Rumford.
