Daniel Cake’s letter to the editor in the July 18 Sun Journal stated he is embarrassed by Gov. Paul LePage’s “inflammatory remarks” and his “lack of civility.”
He goes on to say that, as governor, LePage “speaks for all of us.”
Well, Mr. Cake doesn’t speak for me or many of my friends and associates.
It is about time we get a person in the governor’s office who isn’t afraid to ruffle some feathers. The problem with politics today is no one wants to offend anybody.
That reminds me of the famous words from poet John Lydgate, later adapted by President Lincoln: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.”
I am aware of several people who don’t like Gov. LePage because he doesn’t come across as an educated person. That’s a shame.
For one, I am pleased with the way Gov. LePage is running our state.
