MECHANIC FALLS — Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene had a celebration on June 24 for a former and retired pastor, Rev. Donald Green. He was presented with a Distinguished Service Award for more than 50 years of service to the Lord.
The service was a surprise and Rev. Green was deeply appreciative of the honor. Testimonials from former parishioners, family and friends were given. Green was at the Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene the longest but he also served at many other churches.
He and his wife, Ethel, are loved by all the churches that they have served. Members of the Mechanic Falls church feel honored to have them attending their church in their retired years.
There was special music for the service. Margaret Sjostron sang and the De Lige family played and sang for the celebration and worship.
