LIVERMORE FALLS — Harry J. Barney Jr., 66, of Livermore Falls died early Monday, July 23, at his home with family at his side.

He was born in Oakland, Jan. 25, 1946, a son of Harry J. and Irene (Decker) Barney Sr. and was a graduate of Skowhegan High School. Mr. Barney was employed at Norwock Shoe and later at G.H. Bass Co. as a pattern maker and participated in many industry shows.

He enjoyed gardening, yard work, camping, and loved rock and roll music

and dancing. On Jan. 12, 1974, he married Lorraine Putnam in Livermore Falls, who predeceased him on March 5, 2005.

He is survived by his two sons, Steve Chicoine of Chelsea and Larry Chicoine and his wife, Diane, of Fayette; a very special grandson, who was like a son to him, Andy Chicoine and his wife, Theresa, and their children, Tyler and Ashley, all of Livermore Falls; grandsons, Steven J. Chicoine of Portland and Jason and Toby Chicoine, both of Fayettel a granddaughter, Brittany Stockmar of Augusta; five great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, who was like a daughter to him, Patricia Lyon of South Carolina; special daughter-in-law, Alice Chicoine of Windsor; a sister, Sandy Whittemore and her husband, Dave, and their family of Madison; and two daughters from a previous marriage, Michelle and Kimberly.
