NEWINGTON, Conn. — Muriel Gastonguay, born on Sept. 21, 1923, in Lewiston, passed away July 9.

She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Alphonsine (Vallee) Laliberte and was the widow of Roger Gastonguay.

Married April 19, 1944, Muriel and Roger had one daughter, Diane of Kensington.

Muriel attended St. Peter’s Parochial school and graduated from Lewiston High in 1941. She worked as an engraver at Styger Gage Co. in Manchester.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Parent and her husband, Edmund, of Kensington; a sister, Rolande Poliquin of Otisfield; a granddaughter, Rebecca Parent of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Roger, and her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her loving poodle, “Rickie.”
