I am a proud Mainer, however, the current governor makes me feel like we are losers living in a loser state. Seems like LePage thinks we have state employees and teachers who are losers. It’s the elderly on Medicare, the poor, the disabled and the retirees’ fault for everything.

Where is his respect for working Mainers?

I remember how proud LePage was as he described his “Marden’s poster child,” as she received food stamps due to her low wages, and him admitting he wasn’t giving her a raise. That is what the governor is proud of — low wages.

Now he says that Maine students are looked down upon when they go to other states for school or work. As a life-long Mainer, I disagree. My children have gone through the public school system and are now successful young adults. Being Mainers has been an asset.

These attacks are prompted by LePage’s privatization agenda, which will actually be more costly as one has only to look at war profiteers such as Halliburton. His answer is to add a for-profit middleman.

I think elected officials should be proud of the people and state they represent. We need to elect representatives who want the best for Maine and Maine people. Under his administration, LePage’s perception will become reality. Democrats will not be bullied to his way of thinking if the facts do not validate his point of view.

Let’s get Maine moving forward again and vote Democrat in the November elections.
