BRUNSWICK — Tedford Housing has named Craig A. Phillips of Auburn as its new executive director.

He succeeds Don Kniseley, who held the position for 10 years.

Phillips served as interim executive director starting in October 2011. He is a graduate of the University Maine at Orono and Leadership Maine. He has had a nearly 35-year career in the nonprofit sector, including serving for 25 years as the executive director at Common Ties Mental Health Services, a multi-program agency in Lewiston that served adults with mental illness.

Throughout his career, Phillips has been involved in a variety of professional organizations, often in leadership roles, including the Auburn Lewiston Kiwanis Club and the Maine Association of Mental Health Services.

Tedford Housing provides emergency shelter and offers the link for youth, adult individuals and families to permanent housing with supports. Tedford serves the communities of the Mid-Coast region, Lewiston, Auburn and Augusta.
