As a resident of Russell Street in Lewiston, I am amazed at how many drivers do not pull over to the side of the road and stop when they hear or see an ambulance approaching. Sometimes it looks like they are trying to outrun the ambulance, but drivers do not get out of the way.

People should keep in mind that the ambulance might be trying to reach parents, spouses or children.

Drivers must pull over and allow the ambulance personnel to do their jobs.
