NORWAY — The Norway Baptist Church family enjoyed a week of Vacation Daily Bible School with family fun for ages 5 to adults for the week of July 9-13. Charlie Chandler and his puppeteers performed each night.

This year’s theme was the Wild, Wild West. Charlie’s program offered songs, a missionary story about Hudson Taylor, individual and team competition. A total of $200 was collected to assist the two missionary families which Norway Baptist Church had committed to help supporting. There were 84 registrants. There were opportunities to earn points throughout the week by memorizing scripture, bringing a guest visitor, bringing a Bible, looking up verses in the Bible with races and games.

Charlie’s focus is sharing God’s word and love with the mission on saving souls in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Chandler travels around the United States and parts of Canada with a commitment to helping children realize their potential.

Pastor Norman Jackson had the pleasure of handing out certificates of attendance, medallions and first- and second-place trophies to children. The winners included primary grade, first place, Lucas Yates; second place, Dakota Morgan; third place, Madeline Huggins; grades 4-6 level, first place, Kason Anderson; second place, Michele Wilson; third place, Caleb Flagg; and for teens, first place, Sherylyn Foster; second place, Nate Flanigan; and third place, Noah Flanigan.
