ALTON, Ill. — Craig T. Chapman, 75, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.
Born June 14, 1937, in Rumford, he was the son of Floyd T. and Catherine B. Clunie Chapman. Craig was very active in high school music clubs and sports. He especially enjoyed the marching band.
Craig attained his B.S. degree in economics and business management from Boston University. He applied his business skills in the hotel business by establishing sound business practices at nationally recognized, as well as smaller family-owned hotels.
On June 4, 1987, on Mackinac Island, Mich., he married the former Mary Jane Berry. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Kimberly Nichole Chapman of Mineral, Va.; a granddaughter, Teagan Rose Chapman; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Barbara Chapman of Farmingdale; and a sister, Karen I. Gurschick of St. John, NB, Canada.
He was predeceased by his parents.
