AUBURN — Harriet Cummings has been named the Androscoggin Valley Board of Realtors’ Realtor of the Year for 2012.

She has been active in real estate since 1996. She took a sales agent course and was encouraged to obtain a license. Originally working in the Orono area for her first eight years, she followed her children to Auburn, signing on with ERA Worden. She has been associated with Fontaine Family — The Real Estate Leader for the past two and one-half years.

Cummings has served on the board of directors of Androscoggin Valley Board of Realtors’, as well as a term as president. She has also served on the scholarship committee and is currently co-chairwoman of the affordable housing golf tournament committee.

In her support of cancer research, Cummings has participated in The Relay for Life walks, as well as being involved in The Dempsey Challenge every year since inception. Most recently, she volunteered her time in the Rebuilding Together L/A yearly day-of-service project.

She has two children, both married, and two granddaughters.
