GREENE — Matthew P. Burnham, Sr., 52, a resident of Meadow Hill Road, Greene, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 7, at his home in Greene.
He was born in Portland on Aug. 23, 1959, the son of Royal W. and Jeanette Smith Burnham.
Matthew attended Leeds, Jefferson and Waterville schools.
On Oct. 22, 1984, in Fairfield, he and Kathy Lane were married.
He was self-employed as a handyman and could fix almost anything.
Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Greene; three sons, Justin Lane and wife, Johanna, of Vassalboro, Nathan Kelly and girlfriend, Nicole McWilliams, of Greene, and Matthew P. Burnham, Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Greene; a daughter, Tasha Burnham and companion, Tim Coutoure, of Lewiston; three brothers, Royal W. Burnham Jr., of Leeds, Mark Burnham and John Burnham, both of Florida; five sisters, Faith Brann and husband, Robert, of Coopers Mills, Hope Ellis and husband, Dan, of Benton, Patience Lane and husband, Ralph Sr., of Sidney, Eilene Labonte and husband, Norman, of Augusta, and Cora Lane and husband Ralph, Jr., of Winslow; six grandchildren, R.J., Emma, Ethan, Ari, Aidan and Connor; and two dear friends, Dennis Robertson and Chip Stevens.
He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Charity Nickerson.
