1934 – 2012

WOOLWICH — Floreston “Jr.” S. Pierce Jr., 78, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

He was born on July 11, 1934, the son of Floreston S. Pierce and Wilma (Kimball) Pierce. He was a long-time employee of Maritime Apartments, and he retired in 2007.

Jr. was an outdoors kind of man, he loved fishing, hunting and baseball. He will be sadly missed by all those that loved him.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Myron Pierce, as well as his first wife, Venice (Smith) Pierce.

He is survived by his loving fiancee, Nannie Mahoney, and her two daughters, Cindi Lyons and Christine Falvo; his sons, Samuel Pierce and William Pierce and his wife, Betsy; his two daughters, Sandra Ellefson and Thelma Cusick and her husband, Tim; his stepdaughters, Alicia Johnson and Tina Kennedy; and stepson, Gerald Kennedy. He is also survived by his brother, “Bud” Pierce; sisters, Geraldine DeShon, Maxine Roak, Nina Hayes and Alice Keddy; along with 11 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
