Remember when you were a child and an adult would say “no”? It seemed that just saying “no” once was not enough. They always seemed to have to follow up that first “no” with “no, no,” then the child would listen.
Well, that is the situation Mexico taxpayers are in with the Recreation Department budget article that Mexico taxpayers said “no” to already. One “no” is just not going to be enough; we have to go back and say “no” again. Then, maybe town officials will understand that taxpayers mean “no.” Like when speaking to children, if the taxpayers say “no, no,” maybe they will get the message.
To be successful in the effort to put some control on Mexico spending, it is important to vote “no” on Aug. 30. Our taxes are high enough.
Most towns the size of Mexico have no recreation director. They have volunteers, and they manage to have great programs.
