NORWAY — The yard sale, to have been held on Saturday, Aug. 11, sponsored by Responsible Pet Care and Pawsibilities Thrift Shoppe, has been postponed until Saturday, Aug. 18. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 132 Waterford Road.

Table space is $10. There will be refreshments and baked goods along with vintage, antique and new items. Rain date is Saturday, Aug. 25. For more information, call 743-8679.

BRUNSWICK — A Southern Maine Community College Midcoast Campus Drop-In Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 29 Sewall St.

Students sought

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Susan Collins has announced that the U.S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP) has begun its statewide selection process for 2013. Two outstanding Maine high school students will be selected to join other delegates from each state and the District of Columbia to spend a week in Washington, D.C. for the program’s 51st annual Washington Week.

The students will visit Capitol Hill, the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department, the Supreme Court and other historic sites. They will meet with senators, cabinet officials, and government leaders. 

Each student delegate will receive a $5,000 undergraduate college scholarship, in addition to an all-expenses paid trip to Washington provided by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.

The Maine selection deadline is Oct. 15. Names of the students selected will be announced in mid-December.
