After Superintendent Dennis Duquette and Business Manager Rick Kusturin were placed on leave in February, Michael Wilhelm was hired as interim superintendent in early March.

After Duquette and Kusturin resigned, effective April 23, the School Committee decided to restructure central office responsibilities, reassigning the duties of superintendent, business manager and curriculum director positions to two-member team of superintendent and assistant superintendent.

Wilhelm, who had stepped out of retirement to help when Duquette left, subsequently agreed to serve through June 2013.

Meserve’s hiring would complete the central office restructuring.

Vincent is being nominated to replace former Whittier Middle School Principal Ayesha Farag-Davis, who announced in May that she was moving to Massachusetts where her husband is taking on a new assignment and she will work on her doctoral dissertation.

Benoit is being nominated to replace Margaret Pitts, whose notice of resignation as Poland Community School principal is being given to the School Committee on Monday. Pitts has been hired as principal of Biddeford Primary School.

Marston is being nominated to replace Vincent.

The School Committee will also be asked to approve hiring eight new teachers and 12 new support staff personnel.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Poland Regional High School library.
