Veterans wanted
LEWISTON — Tri-County Mental Health Services is looking for 7 to 10 volunteers to talk about what information veterans need in order to make decisions about sharing their electronic mental health medical record.
The discussion is part of planning for Maine’s launch of HealthInfoNet, which provides a system for health care providers to access medical records electronically.Anyone can decide whether their mental health information can be included or not.
The discussion will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Tri-County Mental Health Services, 1155 Lisbon St., and will last one to two hours. Comments will be confidential. The group will be facilitated by an independent research firm. Call Jerry DeWitt at 783-9141, ext. 228, to sign up.
Dog classes
LEWISTON — Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will start another six-week dog obedience class starting Wednesday evening, Aug. 15. Dogs and puppies must be at least 3 1/2 months old and vaccinated. Seniors CPR class
LEWISTON — A “Family and Friends” CPR course, teaching adult and child CPR and AED, will be held for senior citizens from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at SeniorsPlus.

ICD discussion
LEWISTON — “How Cardiovascular Implanted Electronic Devices Are Monitored” will be the topic of a presentation at the Thursday, Aug. 16, meeting of the Central and Western Maine ICD Support Group.
Deborah Freeman, a certified advanced practice registered nurse, will discuss how implanted electronic devices are monitored in the office setting and remotely. Freeman manages cardiovascular electronic implantable device follow-up for Central Maine Heart Associates-Auburn.
The support group is for individuals who have an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). Family members and other support persons are also welcome.
The meeting will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute first-floor conference room. The program is free. For more information, call or email physician assistant Joe Sala at 753-3900 or [email protected].
