A recent sidewalk sale at the Sabattus Regional Credit Union raised more than $575 for Ending Hunger and Special Olympics. The sidewalk sale originated in 2007, when Executive Vice President Anne Lachance began brainstorming new ways to raise money for the credit union’s two major charities. Since then, the credit union has raised more than $3,566 in sidewalk sale profits. In 2011, after 15 years of service with SRCU, Lachance retired, and passed away shortly after. In honor of her generosity, the annual sidewalk sale has been dedicated in her name. The Anne Lachance Sidewalk Sale will continue its annual efforts to raise money for the two special causes. At the recent sidewalk sale were Rachel Rac, left, from Sabattus Regional Credit Union and Mary LaPlante, a volunteer.
