AUBURN — Central Maine Community College will offer a high pressure boiler operator course from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 4 through Nov. 20.

The cost is $475 and includes all materials and books.

The course provides participants with the knowledge and techniques to operate a steam generating plant in a safe and efficient manner. Basics of boiler design and control are emphasized as well as the importance of feed water treatment. The course offers a practical approach to power plant operation and is designed to prepare the student for the state of Maine high pressure boiler operator licensing exam.

Registration deadline is Aug. 28. Some experience in the field is required in order to sit for the state of Maine license.
