ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police say a four-vehicle crash on the Spaulding Turnpike in Rochester has sent several people to the hospital.
Officials say two of the drivers have suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police said the accident happened at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday when a car headed north on the turnpike crossed the center line near Exit 15 and hit an oncoming pickup truck. The driver of the first car then slid into a third car and spun 180 degrees, hitting a Jeep.
Authorities said the driver of the first car, 39-year-old Xiaowei Wang of Portsmouth, was in critical condition Wednesday at Maine Medical Center. They said the driver of the third car, 34-year-old Karen Fare of Manchester, also suffered life-threatening injuries.
One person was hospitalized in Rochester.
