Bug Camp, club meeting

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue Area Garden Club members will have the opportunity to visit Ann Mallett’s Bug Camp at 113 Greenwood Ave. at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Every year MBAGC sponsors a scholarship to Bug Camp for a deserving young student. As well as a tour of the camp surroundings and learning interesting facts about bugs, members will also hold their monthly meeting, presided over by club president Amy Palmer. Members are asked to please bring a box lunch, a chair and a plant to swap.

Hostesses Bonnie Parlin, Theda Fairbanks and Tavia Mead will provide desserts and beverages. Interested gardeners are welcome to attend. For information call 645-2067.

Community breakfast Aug. 22

RANGELEY — The next Ladies/Community Breakfast with everyone invited to attend will be on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Farm House Inn on Route 4, South Rangeley, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Flea market for food bank

JAY — Space is available for rent at the End of the Summer Flea Market to be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Jay Plaza parking lot. Cost is $20 per car parking space; secure your space now.

All rental proceeds will be donated to the food bank and public needs. There will also be a collection of nonperishable food for the food bank.

Raffle for Helaina Lake

JAY — A raffle for the Helaina Lake Wounded Fund will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Route 4. A silent auction will be held that evening at the spaghetti supper. Many items from local residents and businesses will be offered.
