LEWISTON — Mystery author David Rosenfelt will read from his latest work, “Leader of the Pack,” at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.
He will also discuss his lifelong love of dogs and animal rescue work with the Tara Foundation.
A New Jersey native, Rosenfelt now lives in Maine with his wife and 27 golden retrievers they rescued. He has written 14 novels, 10 of which are part of his successful mystery series featuring lawyer, sleuth and dog-lover Andy Carpenter.
His mystery novels have been nominated for the prestigious Edgar and Shamus awards.
Rosenfelt began his professional life in the film industry and served for several years as president of marketing for Tri-Star Pictures. He is also the author of three TV movies.
In 1995, Rosenfelt and his wife started the Tara Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and providing homes for dogs and other animals. Over the past 17 years, the foundation has rescued more than 4,000 dogs from shelters.
