If I remember correctly, the law about right-turn-on-red reads: “Right turn on red allowed only after a complete stop.”

When traveling on a street with a green light, you’ll often notice a car arriving at the intersection on a cross street a second before you get to the light. All of a sudden, the car makes a rolling stop and jumps out just before you, narrowly making it safely.

Another situation is that when you get to a red light and decide to wait for the light to turn green, someone behind you gets impatient and starts to blow the horn as if you are supposed to turn right. This right turn on red is only a privilege to help traffic move along, not a law that says you have to do it.

People are too much in a hurry today. Slow down. You won’t get there any sooner.
