LEWISTON — Mary Alberta Poland, 89, a former resident of Livermore and Turner, died early Sunday morning, Aug. 19, at Montello Manor.

She was born Jan. 17, 1923, in New York, the daughter of Milo and Marguerite Loughlin Denny. She attended school in New York. On Oct. 4, 1945, she married G. Leslie Poland; he passed away in 1985.

Through the years she had worked for Turner Egg Farms, Priscilla Turner Rugs and Livermore Falls Shoe. She was a former member of Eastern Star and Wayside Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, sketching, crossword puzzles, baking for family and friends, and watching sports, but she especially loved the times spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, Russell Poland and his wife, Janet, of Wilton; her daughter, Chris Keene and her husband, David, of Turner; grandchildren, Katherine Heikkinen, Kevin Poland, George Poland Jr., Marsha Poland and Jessica Keene; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, G. Leslie; and her son, George Poland in 2004.
