The Mexico Budget Committee did not and does not support the Board of Selectmen’s recommendation to pass a $114,000 budget for the town’s Recreation Department. The budget committee has never agreed with the selectmen on that final figure.

The budget committee has always stuck with its recommendation to pass the lower figure of $93,000, which was the same as last year’s budget.

The selectmen want $114,000 while the budget committee said $93,000.

On Aug. 30, residents must vote “no” on the selectmen’s figures in order to get the lower budget committee number.

A “no” vote will help keep our already rising taxes down a little.
