AUBURN — Joseph L. Deschenes of Auburn, formerly of Madawaska, passed away on Aug. 19, at the Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born in Lowell, Mass., March 30, 1922, the son of Thomas and Anna (Lacombe) Deschenes. Joseph was a World War II veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 147.
Joseph worked at the Fraser Paper Mill in Madawaska, where he was an electrician. Joseph enjoyed family gatherings, sharing stories and a good laugh, following the Red Sox, staying current on national and world news and hearing about the achievements of his grandchildren. Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Bernadette Albert.
He is survived by daughter, Ann Marie Clavette and her husband, Don, of Madawaska; son, David and life partner, Danielle Cyr, of Edmundston, N.B.; daughter, Lucille Arnold of Bangor; daughter, Rita Dumais and her husband, Jerry, of Auburn; daughter, Denise Jensen and her husband, Lew, of Auburn; grandchildren, Peter Clavette and his wife, Tammy, John Clavette, Andrew Clavette and his wife, Alicia, Elizabeth Clavette, Scott Deschenes and his wife, Jasmine, Melissa Deschenes Ringuette and her husband, Scott, Matthew Arnold, Michael Arnold, Jennifer Langan and her husband, Brendan, Joseph Dumais and his wife, Theresa, Llewelyn Jensen and Olivia Jensen; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Kamryn Clavette, Justin and Emma Ringuette, Adeline and Connor Langan.
Joseph was predeceased by grandson, Dana William Arnold of Madawaska.
